hThe Pandemic.

Okay, honestly I am not into medical terms & I admit in this post I didn’t do my assignment, no researches or anything so nothing much of what I’d say will be a great deal of info.

Pandemic - a deadly virulent disease, a plague. From what I know, it’s the highest classification WHO (World Health Organization) can give to a quickly spreading fatal disease like today’s AH1N1 or popularly known as the Swine Flu. It originated from hogs. They’re like the host to the virus since they are not really affected by it. As a matter of fact, health officials have announced at the very start that eating pork will not cause human beings any contamination instead a direct contact with live infected hogs may cause the contagion.

There’s a cure however to Swine Flu – called Tami Flu (which must not be taken unless a doctor is sure that you have Swine Flu, because if taken by mistake and you’re attacked by Swine Flu virus, the medicine may no longer be effective!). Recently, NOVARTIS, a pharmaceutical company had already developed a vaccine to prevent one from being infected. As to the price and effectiveness, no solid reports yet as of my writing.

Swine Flu is just like any other kind of flu, like SARS perhaps, only it is highly contagious, more rapidly spreading across the countries. Yes, it’s worldwide & if not cured right away, may cause death faster than the usual flu and of course, an ordinary anti-flu drug won’t be useful. It started in Mexico then in USA and the rest is in history.

Still, I believe that early prevention & detection would save millions of lives. So, take vitamins, especially Vitamin C, stay in shape through proper exercise & healthy diet. Live a well-balanced life and not to forget – PRAY to your Higher Being. He’d take care of not just the rest but the ALL of it.
